AIA Vitality Programme

Who is eligible for AIA Vitality?
 

AIA Vitality is open to customers residing in Malaysia aged 16 and above with an individual AIA life insurance or Takaful plan, as well as companies in Malaysia with the AIA Employee Benefit.

Not yet an AIA life insurance or Takaful plan customer? Speak to your AIA Life Planner about becoming a member of AIA Vitality. If you don’t have an AIA Life Planner, you can contact us on 1300 88 1899 (for overseas customers call us at 603-2056 1111) or you can send us a request to find you a Life Planner here.

How do I join AIA Vitality?
 

Customers can sign up for AIA Vitality with the membership fee of RM10 per month.

  • New customers can sign up for AIA Vitality together with the purchase of their new AIA life insurance or Takaful plan

  • Individuals with an existing AIA life insurance or Takaful plan can sign up via online purchase here. NOTE: The first annual membership fee payment of RM120 must be made via credit card upon registration

  • Companies can also sign up their employees for a corporate membership via our Corporate Solutions representatives.

Can I own more than one AIA Vitality membership?
 

Each individual can only have one (1) AIA Vitality membership.

Can I apply for AIA Vitality membership for my children who are under 16?
 

The age requirement for AIA Vitality membership is 16 years and above.

Can I apply for AIA Vitality membership as well if I purchase an AIA life insurance plan to insure my parents/spouse/child?
 

The AIA Vitality programme is offered to the individual who is the life insured or person covered under an eligible AIA life insurance or Takaful plan, or has enrolled via a corporate membership offered by his/her company or association. Being the policy owner of the plan does not qualify an individual to apply for the AIA Vitality membership.

Will any of my health info in AIA Vitality programme be shared with the underwriting or claims functions of AIA Bhd. or AIA Public Takaful Bhd.?
 

Any health or medical-related personal information you provide as part of your AIA Vitality membership WILL NOT be provided to the underwriting or claims departments of AIA Bhd. or AIA Public Takaful Bhd. and therefore will not be used in the making of any future underwriting or claims decisions.

NOTE: In accordance with your duty of disclosure, in the event of any future application for insurance cover, changes to an existing insurance cover or claims for an insurance policy or Takaful plan with AIA, you are still obliged to disclose any relevant health and medical-related personal information.

AIA Vitality Insurance Benefits

How does the AIA Vitality Insurance Benefit work?
 

As an AIA Vitality member, you are entitled to additional benefits on associated insurance or Takaful plans.

The value of the benefit may maintain, increase or decrease depending on your AIA Vitality Status at the end of every membership year.

Account Activation, Username and Password

How do I activate my member account?
 

You can either activate your account via the pre-registered link provided in your Welcome Email from AIA Vitality Malaysia, or via a manual registration. Click here to refer to the user guide.

How do I reset my Username and/or Password?
 

  1. Visit www.aia.com.my, select ‘MY AIA’ and click on ‘Self Reset Password/User ID’.
  2. Complete the customer verification questions then click ‘Next’.
  3. A temporary password will be sent to your email. Log in with your User ID and temporary password to complete the process.

AIA Vitality Points and Status

How can I earn AIA Vitality Points?
 

You can earn AIA Vitality Points by engaging in a number of activities focused on helping you know more about your health and improving it:

  • Know Your Health – these are points earned from completing your Online Assessments, Health Checks, AIA Vitality Nutrition Consultation and Fitness Explorer Test. Click here to get started
  • Get Active – these are points earned from tracking your physical activities via compatible fitness devices/applications, gym visits to Fitness First (for members who have signed up for the AIA Vitality Fitness First benefit) and participating in officially organized fitness events. For more information, please refer to Gym and Fitness.
  • Healthy Choices – these are points earned from completing your Advanced Screenings, Vaccinations, Dental Assessment (for more information, refer to Screening and Prevention), as well as the Non-Smoker Declaration.
  • Goals – these are points earned from accepting and completing recommended goals
  • Get Connected – these are points earned from accepting and completing challenges, as well as when you challenge friends and he/she completes it

What is my AIA Vitality Status?
 

As you take steps to improve your health, you will be awarded AIA Vitality Points. Your points will add up to help you achieve what we call your AIA Vitality Status.

At the start of every membership year, your status starts at Bronze. For every effort you make towards a living a healthy lifestyle (eg; complete health checks/advance screenings, exercise, quit smoking etc.), you will earn AIA Vitality Points, and your AIA Vitality Status will gradually improve from Bronze, to Silver, then Gold and ultimately Platinum! The higher your status, the greater your rewards. You may refer to Points and Status to see the points needed for each status.

I recently relocated to Malaysia from Singapore, how can I transfer my AIA Vitality Points that I have earned in Singapore to the AIA Vitality programme in Malaysia?
 

The AIA Vitality programme is managed independently in each country, so any AIA Vitality Points and Status previously earned in other countries are non-transferable.

Online Assessments

What Online Assessments are available on the AIA Vitality Member Portal?
 

We have 4 free online assessments available on the AIA Vitality Member Portal:

  • AIA Vitality Health Review (VHR) – this gives you your AIA Vitality Age, which is a reflection of your current health status, as well as your health results report, plus recommended Health Goals based on your health risks
  • Mental Wellbeing Assessments – this gives you a personalized profile and recommendations to help you understand and improve your overall emotional and mental wellbeing
  • AIA Vitality Nutrition Assessment (VNA) – get an overview of your dietary habits and understand what you can improve
  • Non-Smoker’s Declaration – get AIA Vitality Points if you do not or have not smoked for more than 3 months

How is my AIA Vitality Age calculated?
 

Your AIA Vitality Age estimates the effect of your lifestyle on your life expectancy. It is calculated using your responses to the AIA Vitality Health Review, your results from the AIA Vitality Health Check, and any other data provided from a verified source, for example the AIA Vitality Nutrition Assessment with a dietitian or an AIA Vitality Fitness Assessment. Your AIA Vitality Age maybe higher or lower than your actual age, depending on whether your lifestyle is having a positive or negative effect on your overall health.

AIA Vitality Health Check

What is the difference between the AIA Vitality Express Health Check and the AIA Vitality Health Check?
 

  • The AIA Vitality Express Health Check is a quick assessment that measures 3 components: BMI and waist circumference, Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose and takes under 20 minutes to complete. You can complete this at selected Guardian outlets at RM3.00 and earn up to 4,500 AIA Vitality Points each membership year. Call Guardian for an appointment.
  • On the other hand, you can opt for the AIA Vitality Health Check available at BP Healthcare at up to 50% off and awards you up to 6,000 AIA Vitality Points each membership year. It is a more comprehensive test and measures 4 components: BMI and waist circumference, Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterol, and Blood Glucose

Will my health results from the AIA Vitality Health Check/AIA Vitality Express Health Check/advanced screening affect my underwriting of any insurance plan?
 

Any health or medical-related personal information you provide as part of your AIA Vitality membership WILL NOT be provided to the underwriting or claims departments of AIA Bhd. or AIA Public Takaful Bhd. and therefore will not be used in the making of any future underwriting or claims decisions.

In accordance with your duty of disclosure, you are still obliged to disclose any relevant health or medical-related personal information in the event of any future application for insurance cover, changes to existing insurance cover or claims under an insurance policy / Takaful plan with AIA.

Can I have my own doctor do the same tests as in AIA Vitality Health Check and still earn points for it?
 

Yes, you can go to your preferred doctor and get your Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist circumference, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose and Total Cholesterol measured. Thereafter, you will need to submit proof of your results to earn points – log on to aiavitality.com.my, select the ‘Points and Status’ tab and click on ‘Claim Points’ to upload your results.

Screening and Prevention

I recently completed a health screening/vaccination/dental assessment. Can I use the results to earn AIA Vitality Points?
 

Yes, you can earn AIA Vitality Points for specified advanced screenings, vaccinations and a dental assessment every membership year.

NOTE:

  • Your results must be uploaded within 6 months upon completion and no later than 30 days after your membership renewal date.
  • For your first membership year, we will accept health check results/vaccinations/dental assessments which have been done 6 months prior to your joining date.
  • However for subsequent years, points will only be granted for health checks/vaccinations/dental assessments which have been completed within the same membership year.

AIA Vitality Jaya Grocer Benefit

What is the HealthyFood™ benefit?
 

Members get 10% discount and AIA Vitality Points on purchases of HealthyFood™ items (fresh fruits and vegetables)

  • The discount applies to any HealthyFood™ purchases up to a monthly limit of RM400 (based on price before AIA Vitality discount)
  • 1 AIA Vitality Point for every RM 1 HealthyFood™ spend, up to a monthly limit of 400 points
How do I get the HealthyFood™ discount at Jaya Grocer?
 

You must first present your AIA Vitality membership card or e-card (available on the AIA Vitality Malaysia mobile app and AIA Vitality Member Portal) at the checkout counter, BEFORE the items are scanned for checkout.

Weekly Challenge

What is the Weekly Challenge?
 

The Weekly Challenge is an AIA Vitality tool to motivate you to stay active on a regular and consistent basis.

How does the Weekly Challenge work?
 

  1. To participate in the Weekly Challenge, you need to download the AIA Vitality Weekly Challenge app from the App Store or Google Play store.
  2. Once you have downloaded the app, you need to complete the Vitality Age questionnaire and link your fitness tracking device / app
  3. Earn AIA Vitality Points from physical activities to achieve your weekly target (250 physical activity points). Whether it’s running, walking, clocking a workout or joining organised fitness events, this will all help you in reaching your weekly target.
  4. Get rewarded every time you achieve your weekly target for 2 consecutive weeks!

NOTE: Points for each respective week must be claimed by Wednesday of the week after to count towards the Weekly Target.

Who is eligible for the Weekly Challenge?
 

All AIA customers who have signed up for the AIA Vitality programme are eligible for the Weekly Challenge.

From time to time, we may also have some campaigns which allows non-AIA Vitality members a free trial of the Weekly Challenge – participants in these campaigns are bound by the campaign terms and conditions.

Do I need to create a new account to access the Weekly Challenge app?
 

  • AIA customers who have signed up with the AIA Vitality programme can use their existing AIA Vitality Username and Password to log in to the App.
  • Non-AIA Vitality members who are participating in a campaign will need to sign up for a new account via the App and key in the campaign promo code to unlock the Rewards benefit.

How can I achieve my Weekly Target?
 

You need to earn AIA Vitality Points from your physical activities (using a compatible fitness tracking device), gym visits to Fitness First or from participating in officially organized fitness events.

NOTE:

  • For customers who have signed up for the full AIA Vitality programme, any AIA Vitality Points earned from your physical activities will count towards both your Weekly Target and AIA Vitality Status.
  • AIA Vitality Points for gym visits to Fitness First are only awarded for members who have signed up for the AIA Vitality Fitness First benefit
  • Only customers who have signed up for the full AIA Vitality programme can earn points from participating in officially organized fitness events
  • Points for each respective week must be claimed by Wednesday of the week after to count towards the Weekly Target

Goals and Clinical Guidelines

How are my recommended goals determined?
 

Recommended goals are based on your health risks, which are determined by your responses to the AIA Vitality Health Review (VHR) and your results from your AIA Vitality Health Check (VHC).

The VHR will need to be completed before any goals are recommended. You are given the option to accept the goal after you have completed the VHR.

How are my goals tracked?
 

Goals are tracked using verified results which you submit to us directly, or which our partners submit to us on your behalf and with your consent. Examples include the AIA Vitality Health Check results, and workout data submitted through partner fitness devices.

Fitness Tracking Devices/Apps

Can I earn AIA Vitality Points using any fitness tracking device/app?
 

You only can earn AIA Vitality Points using fitness tracking devices/apps which are compatible with the AIA Vitality programme. Please refer to Fitness Devices to view the full list of compatible devices/apps.

How do I link my fitness tracking device/app to my AIA Vitality account?
 
Step 1: Create an account for your fitness device/app
For example, if you have a Fitbit fitness watch, you need to download the Fitbit app, create a Fitbit account and link your Fitbit fitness watch to your Fitbit account
Step 2: Log on to your AIA Vitality account, then under ‘Improve Your Health’, select ‘Fitness Devices’
Step 3: Select the brand of your fitness device/app
Step 4: Key in the User ID and password of your fitness device/app account, and grant AIA Vitality permission to access your physical activity information

NOTE:

  • You only need to link your AIA Vitality account to your fitness device/app account once.
  • Depending on which fitness tracking device/app you are using, you may need to manually sync your fitness tracking device if it does not allow auto updates.
  • If you are using a wearable/clip on fitness device, it is recommended to sync your fitness device to your fitness device account at least once a week – AIA Vitality can only award points when your physical activity data are updated on your fitness device/app account.

Flight/Hotel Bookings and Cashback

How can I get my discount on my AirAsia flight bookings?
 

The member discount for AirAsia flight bookings, are only applicable for bookings made via the link provided in the AIA Vitality Member Portal.

To access the link, simply log in to the AIA Vitality Member Portal, select 'Enjoy The Rewards', click on ‘AirAsia’ and click on 'Book Now'.

Can I earn BIG points for AirAsia flight bookings made via the AIA Vitality Member Portal?
 

Yes, if you have an existing BIG Membership, you can still earn BIG points from your AIA Vitality discounted flights.

You will need to modify the booking details from the AirAsia main website to include your BIG Shot ID. The BIG points calculation will be done based on AirAsia existing rules.

How can I get my discount on my hotel bookings?
 

The member discount for Berjaya Hotels & Resorts/Marriott hotel room bookings, are only applicable for bookings made via the link provided in the AIA Vitality Member Portal.

To access the link, simply log in to the AIA Vitality Member Portal, select 'Enjoy The Rewards', select your preferred hotel and click on 'Book Now'.
